Samantha Rhoades Valenzuela (formerly Samantha R. Sellers) is a dedicated bankruptcy attorney with more than 20 years of legal experience serving individuals and families throughout Central Alabama. A Dale County native, Samantha has built her career on providing knowledgeable, compassionate, and results-oriented legal representation to clients facing some of life’s most difficult financial challenges. Her practice is focused on helping individuals regain financial stability through bankruptcy and related debt relief solutions, offering trusted guidance and personalized legal counsel every step of the way.
Samantha is a 1997 graduate of George W. Long High School in Skipperville, Alabama. She earned her undergraduate degree from Troy University in 2001 before pursuing her legal education at the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University, where she graduated in 2005. That same year, she successfully passed the Alabama State Bar and began practicing law.
Although Samantha’s early legal career included experience in several areas of practice, she soon discovered a passion for helping individuals experiencing financial hardship. She chose to dedicate her practice to consumer bankruptcy law, where she could make a meaningful difference in the lives of people struggling with overwhelming debt, creditor harassment, wage garnishments, vehicle repossessions, and foreclosure. For Samantha, bankruptcy is not simply about filing legal documents-it is about providing clients with a fresh financial start and restoring hope during difficult times.
Over the past two decades, Samantha has helped thousands of individuals and families throughout Central Alabama obtain meaningful financial relief. She understands that financial difficulties can happen to anyone, often because of circumstances beyond a person’s control, such as medical expenses, divorce, job loss, or other unexpected life events. Recognizing that every client’s situation is unique, Samantha takes the time to listen carefully, explain available legal options, and develop solutions tailored to each client’s specific needs and goals. Her clients appreciate her approachable demeanor, practical advice, and unwavering commitment to helping them move forward with confidence.
Samantha’s practice is founded on the principles of integrity, professionalism, and individualized representation. She believes every client deserves honest advice, responsive communication, and exceptional legal advocacy regardless of the complexity of their circumstances. Her compassionate approach, combined with extensive knowledge of bankruptcy law, has earned the trust of countless clients seeking relief from financial distress.
Committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence, Samantha has remained actively involved in numerous legal organizations throughout her career. She has been a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR) and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA), organizations that provide continuing education and promote excellence in consumer advocacy. Her ongoing participation in these organizations has allowed her to remain informed about developments in bankruptcy law and best practices, ensuring that her clients receive informed and effective legal representation.
Samantha is licensed to practice before all Alabama state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. In addition to her litigation experience, Samantha is certified as a Guardian ad Litem, Arbitrator, and Mediator. Her training in Alternative Dispute Resolution provides additional tools for resolving legal matters efficiently and effectively while keeping her clients’ best interests at the forefront.
Giving back to the community has always been an important part of Samantha’s professional life. As a participant in the Alabama State Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program, she has dedicated countless hours to providing free and reduced-cost legal services to individuals who might otherwise be unable to afford legal representation. She believes access to quality legal counsel should not depend solely on a person’s financial circumstances, and her pro bono work reflects her longstanding commitment to serving those in need with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Beyond her legal practice, Samantha remains actively involved in supporting nonprofit organizations and community initiatives that improve the lives of others. Her commitment to service extends well beyond the courtroom and reflects the same values of compassion, integrity, and dedication that define her legal career.
When she is not serving clients, Samantha enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and supporting her local community. She is happily married to her husband, Enrique, and together they are proud parents of three children: Julia Grace, Carlin, and Victor. Her experiences as a wife, mother, and lifelong member of the Central Alabama community continue to shape the empathy and understanding she brings to every client relationship.
Whether assisting a client through a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy, helping stop creditor harassment, or providing guidance through financial uncertainty, Samantha remains committed to delivering skilled legal representation with compassion, professionalism, and personal attention. Her goal is to help every client find a path toward financial recovery and a brighter future, while providing the confidence that comes from having an experienced advocate by their side.
